What can Justice North help me with?
  • Justice North is a non-profit law firm that helps people facing civil legal challenges. This includes the unsheltered and those at risk of losing their home, survivors of domestic violence and their children, families and seniors in need of public assistance or facing wage garnishment, and more.
  • Justice North cannot help you defend a criminal charge or traffic ticket. 
How do I apply for legal help?
  • You can apply for legal help by calling us at 877-MY-MN-LAW (877-696-6529). 
  • You can also get a head start on your application by filling out our online form
  • If you are dealing with an emergency legal issue or a deadline of any kind, please do not use the online form. Call us right away at 877-MY-MN-LAW (877-696-6529).
What happens when I call you?
  • During your phone call, we will ask you for basic information about yourself and your legal issue. 
  • We will also ask about your household income and your assets to ensure you are eligible for Justice North’s services. Asking you about this is a requirement of our funding. 
  • All of the information you provide during your phone call is confidential.
What happens when I start an application through the online form?
  • The online form will ask you for basic information about yourself and your legal issue. 
  • The form will also ask you to provide information about your household income and your assets to ensure you are eligible for Justice North’s services. Asking you about this is a requirement of our funding. 
  • At the end of the online form, you will schedule a date and time for us to call you back and finish the application process. 
  • Please note that we MUST speak with you on the phone to complete your application. You cannot apply for legal services exclusively through the online form. 
  • If you are dealing with an emergency legal issue or a deadline of any kind, please do not use the online form. Call us right away at 877-MY-MN-LAW (877-696-6529)
  • Filling out the online form does not create a client-attorney relationship between you and Justice North. 
Can I apply for legal help for someone else?
  • In most cases, we must speak directly to the person with the legal issue to start the application process. 
  • If you need to assist a friend or family member in applying for legal help, please have them with you when you call us. That way we can obtain their consent to speak to you about their legal issue. 
  • If you have legal authority to act on someone else’s behalf, please have those documents with you when you call us.
