Legal Aid Services of Northeastern Minnesota (LASNEM) is a non-profit organization and we do not charge for our services. We provide free legal advice, assistance and representation in a variety of civil (non-criminal ) legal matters, including family law, housing, consumer issues, and many other types of legal matters.
The Brainerd Lakes Office serves three counties: Crow Wing, Cass and Aitkin.
Public benefits issues are generally referred to the county.
- The Brainerd Lakes Office receives special funding from CMCOA to provide legal services to senior citizens living in our service area, including seniors who may not otherwise qualify financially for our services.
- The Brainerd Lakes Office also receives funding from the Crow Wing County United Way and from a variety of other public and private funding sources.
DIRECTIONS: The Brainerd Lakes Office of LASNEM is located on west highway 210 in the Westport Shopping Center in Baxter. The street address is 14091 Baxter Drive. We are directly across the parking lot from the Pizza Hut at the Westport Shopping Center.
